In an industry where trust is often claimed but rarely demonstrated, Wirex Limited is choosing a different path — one built on transparency, data, and accountability.
On 22 January 2026, Wirex Limited published its 2025 Transparency Report, offering a clear and evidence-based view of how the company protects customers, prevents financial crime, and operates under regulatory scrutiny. Rather than relying on generic statements, the report sets out measurable outcomes and openly addresses areas for continued improvement.
A Data-Led Approach to Trust
Authored by CEO Chet Shah, the 2025 Transparency Report departs from industry norms by publishing detailed operational data. The report outlines what Wirex Limited has achieved, what it is seeing across its systems, and how it responds — without hiding behind broad or ambiguous language.
At the centre of the report is a clear figure: in 2025, Wirex Limited blocked over £630,000 in suspected illicit funds from entering or moving through the financial system. This figure represents real-time intervention and active financial crime controls operating throughout the year.
“When I was appointed, I committed to leading with transparency because trust is earned through facts, not slogans,” said Chet Shah, CEO of Wirex Limited. “This report is our way of showing customers, partners, and regulators how we balance growth with safety, accountability, and a relentless focus on doing the right things.”
Key Findings From the 2025 Transparency Report
The report provides outcomes across fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, sanctions compliance, customer complaints, and organisational culture. Key highlights include:
Fraud Prevention in 2025
With fraud continuing to impact consumers across the UK, Wirex Limited prevented £183,752 from being lost to retail scams during 2025. This includes £156,145 linked to Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud.
Anti-Money Laundering Activity
As part of its financial crime controls, Wirex Limited:
Submitted approximately 500 Suspicious Activity Reports to the UK National Crime Agency
Supported 87 law-enforcement requests, including complex investigations involving mule networks
Sanctions Screening and Compliance
In response to rapidly changing global sanctions regimes, Wirex Limited screened against more than 30 global sanctions lists daily, maintaining real-time monitoring throughout 2025.
Customer Complaints Transparency
During 2025, Wirex Limited received 244 customer complaints:
68% were resolved within 15 working days
36 complaints were upheld
The most common issue related to the freezing of funds
Culture and People Metrics
The report also includes organisational health indicators, including:
49% / 51% gender balance
Employee Net Promoter Score of 57
4.6 Glassdoor rating
1.3% voluntary turnover rate
These figures support what the CEO describes as “a culture built on accountability and honest dialogue, not posters on a wall.”
Regulatory Engagement and Oversight
The 2025 Transparency Report confirms that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) inspected Wirex Limited’s financial crime controls and fraud framework during the year. The FCA provided recommendations but did not identify material issues.
The report positions this outcome as validation of the firm’s direction rather than a final milestone.
“Protecting customers at scale takes constant work,” said Chet . “Publishing this report is part of holding ourselves accountable and earning trust one decision at a time.”
